The Mariemont School Foundation is a private group of parents, businesses and residents that sponsor school initiatives. Their goal is to maintain and improve Mariemont’s award-winning school district. We designed and produced an outdoor recognition display. We wanted our design to recognize past donors while inspiring new ones.

 

Our solution for the recognition display uses colors and shapes invoked by the distinctive hexagon-themed Mariemont High School architecture. Individual tiles are color-coded in the school’s colors to denote four levels of contributions. Repeat donors can cluster their tiles to form larger shapes. Interspersed photo panels add an emotional tie back to the students. We integrated a bench into the design to give the piece the practical function of a bus stop/shelter.
