We’re passionate about how people interface with each other and culture, through things like media, architecture, printed material and interactives. When we tell someone, “We’re a designer”, they say “A designer of what?” we say, well, a lot of things – Corporate Identity… Environmental Branding… Data Visualization? We get a lot of blank stares.

We Think of Brands as People
The same functions that let us see and remember people, let us see and remember brands.
Brands have different ways of dressing. They’re from different cultures, and have different lifestyles. They speak differently. They connect to people through different kinds of media, and contribute different things to our lives. The brands with the biggest impact on us are ones who leave the most focused impressions, the most easily personified.
Social Media Marketing firms, may only be good at deciding what your brand tweets or blogs about. Firms that build houses for brands, have a hard time helping them get dressed in the morning.

Growing a brand should be thought of as a cycle. Every effort to grow a brand needs to pass through all of the gates in the cycle in order to be effective and in order to maximize the brand’s capital and human resources. When we start a new job, we consider every part of this cycle, even if we have only been tasked to perform one of its stages.
Whenever you create something new, you ought to know where you are starting from. That can sometimes require an audit. You should ask yourself questions like: What are we doing? What was our intended result? What has been the actual result?
Market Position Assessment
Now that you know where you are, align where you want to go, and create a strategy to get there. That strategy may involve many channels and many initiatives to achieve the resultant growth. Every effort to design something new should be aware of the entire strategy and its place within that strategy.
Goals & Objectives
For any design effort to be effective it should consider the strategy that guides it and the quality, channel, medium and scope of its execution. If all of those things are well-considered, the solution starts to design itself. The design process can then focus on the small brushstrokes of a campaign and really tailor the message to a brand’s entire range of goals.

A good design is wasted if it is poorly executed. Too often the schedule and budget to execute something properly is not factored in during the design process and good design gets shelved, or released with lackluster results. Campaigns can be designed to succeed with low-budget execution if it is considered at the start.
Signage & Wayfinding
Sometimes a brand is really cooking. It has traction with its audience and everything is dialed in just right, and all it needs to do is take what is working and extend it. Extensions can be ways to expose new audiences to your current message or tweak the message to make it fresh for your existing audience.

We identify the work that a campaign, or a space, or an interactive needs to do, model a vision of what success looks like, and then design to meet that vision. Because we work in just about every medium, we know that things, easily achieved in one medium, may be impossible in another. So we design with that in mind. We look at what channels your brand is in, where it is likely to go in the near term and long term, and design things that communicate the same way across your brand’s entire spectrum.
