UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX

EGD | INTERACTIVE DESIGN | BRAND MESSAGING | SCULPTURE | EXHIBIT DESIGN
Integrated experiential and interactive design package brought the University of Phoenix story to life.
John Sperling, PhD, a Cambridge-educated economist, professor and entrepreneur, founded University of Phoenix in 1976 in response to the changing needs of the workplace. He strove to provide adults with the higher education they would need to meet these new demands. The times have changed, but University of Phoenix’ objective has remained the same–help people enhance their lives through education. They provide students access to quality education, ongoing support, and a range of resources to help them succeed. Though primarily serving students online, their innovated curriculum can also be accessed through their campus location in Tempe, Arizona.

Our design system centered and organized St. Aloysius’ brand story. Custom sculpture, murals, and wayfinding all created a unique experience for students and staff. At the same time, print and digital design templates gave them a cohesive way to tell their brand story.

ST. ALOYSIUS

BRAND IDENTITY | EGD | SIGNAGE & WAYFINDING | BRAND MESSAGING | SCULPTURE
Brand identity, messsaging, and integrated environmental design package gave St. Aloysius a cohesive way to tell their brand story across all mediums.
When GBBN Architects asked us to be part of the design team for the total renovation of St. Aloysius’ historic campus in Bond Hill, we said yes. St. Aloysius has been a Cincinnati landmark since the early 1800s and has a rich history. Starting as a safe haven for German-speaking children orphaned during the cholera outbreak in 1832, St. Aloysius has a long history of serving the community and its children. In the 1980s, St. Aloysius Orphanage began to focus on responding to abuse and neglect. Today, St. Aloysius is a non-profit that uses evidence-based treatment strategies to help children, individuals, and families in need. St. Aloysius provides a network of community- and evidence-based services to provide the necessary tools to make those in need feel cared for, valued, and safe.
Large colorful "paper airplanes" take flight above the lobby at St. Aloysius. Employees walk under the sculpture past environmental graphics in the hallway.
